The historical origin of school uniforms is quite complicate and it’s started in 16th century for poor childrens in school of charity, England. The history of school uniform started back to the fall of Rome Empire where formal education got stopped for boys. They had a habit of wearing similar clothing while attending classes. In the Middle Ages boys students were alone allowed to attend class where they didn’t wear uniforms while attending classes. In India boys in most of the public state and private schools wear uniforms. Most of them were western typed uniforms even though traditional pattern is still in many areas around the country. The school uniform for Indian girls is normal salwaar found popularly all over India or a combination of skirts and buttoned shirts with shoes and socks. Usage of school uniforms benefiting both students and their parents and faculties providing an environment where students can able to study most in their education. One of the major benefits to use school uniforms is school safety where the strangers were gets identified easily. Another advantage is to avoid groups and gangs. Secondly wearing uniforms can reduce and eliminate socio-economical barriers. Uniforms play a major role in decreasing dangerous altercation among students. Wearing uniforms helps to maintain discipline in schools and increases safety in schools.
